Africa has enormous potential of being an economic super power over other continents in the nearest future.But in other to achieve this goal we need to first tackle some of the major challenges that hinders our economic growth.
Our lack of creativity has made us over dependent on the western markets and technologies and these strengthens their economy which is growing bigger.
Youth they say forms majority of the work force of any nation and if properly empowered and encouraged can boost the creativity and productivity of the Africa Continent.
Here is a list which explains some of the causes of Uncreativity in African Youth;
Some may argue that some of these hard drugs can increase agility and productivity in certain areas in one’s life. Take for instance Indian hemp which most young African artistes smoke and claim it makes them agile, creative and active during live performances. But you and I know that sooner or later majority of them will end up visiting rehabilitation centers in other to control their behavioral changes as a result of drug addiction and thus they become nuisance to the society.
African youths and youths all around the world often engage in the indiscriminate use of drugs but what separates’ them from African is that the government in developed nations put in place lots of standard rehabilitation programs and centres to curb the menace of drug abuse amongst its youths, where as in Africa the few rehabilitation centres here is nothing to write home about.
Take for instance the rapid surge in kidnapping, oil bunkery, terrorist attacks, armed robbery, advanced free fraud, prostitution and other crimes happening in the African society. Majority of these crimes are propageted by the youths who are slowly drifting away from being patient and creative enough to achieve success. Only very few deem it fit to emulate African hero’s who have brought so much creativity in their respective areas of specialization, people like Wole Soyinka, Chinua Achebe, Nelson Mandela, Philip Emeagwali just to mention a few are notable folks of African origin worth emulating.
This leads to lack of self belief and posses adverse effect on the lives of an average African.
No doubt colonization has opened the eyes of Africans to the rest of the world but we still haven’t found the right balance as to what works best for them and what works best for us. Imagine an African youth wearing a sweater and a head warmer under hot sun in the name of fashion. That’s Awful.
Lack of encouragement and support from the government has eaten deep into the common African man and has hampered the creativity of the African youth which leads them to go into social vices. Lack of job creation has lead youths to go astray taking the law into their hands.
In other for Africa to seriously achieved its goal of world economy dominance, all hands should be on deck especially from the government, parents, teachers, employers and professionals. Efforts should be made in ensuring that the African youth is given necessary encouragement and support in other to boost the creativity and productivity of every African nation and thus actualizing the aim of global economy dominance. Youth also should be willing to explore their creative potentials in other for the government and other privilege individuals to invest in them.

Drug Abuse
Drug abuse is one of the major factors which affect the creativity in African youth. Drug Abuse is the indiscriminate use of drugs without a doctor’s prescription and it's solely used for the purpose of deriving pleasure e.g. Indian hemp, cocaine, heroin etc.Some may argue that some of these hard drugs can increase agility and productivity in certain areas in one’s life. Take for instance Indian hemp which most young African artistes smoke and claim it makes them agile, creative and active during live performances. Get Rich Quick Attitude
Youth of nowadays look for the easy way out in other to achieve financial freedom. This mentality influences them to take rash actions in trying to achieve their goal of making quick money instead of being creative and patient enough for success to come their path.Take for instance the rapid surge in kidnapping, oil bunkery, terrorist attacks, armed robbery, advanced free fraud, prostitution and other crimes happening in the African society. Majority of these crimes are propageted by the youths who are slowly drifting away from being patient and creative enough to achieve success. Lack of Self Belief
The African youths tends to regard their western counterpart as superior to them. Some go further to idolize them and feel they can’t be as creative and productive when being compared to their idol.This leads to lack of self belief and posses adverse effect on the lives of an average African.
Imitation of Western Culture.
Originality and a mixture of related ideas to produce a better result go hand in hand with creativity. It baffles me with the rate at which African Youths of nowadays imitate the western culture even in areas which we can be more creative for example Herbal medicine.No doubt colonization has opened the eyes of Africans to the rest of the world but we still haven’t found the right balance as to what works best for them and what works best for us. Imagine an African youth wearing a sweater and a head warmer under hot sun in the name of fashion. That’s Awful.
Lack of Encouragement and Support from the Government
The African government today is filled with lots of corrupt individuals with little or nothing to contribute to the development of African society. You may think I am being too harsh on the government but just take a moment and ask yourself; Out of all the continents which one has been the least productive over the last couple of decades? Now you get the picture.Lack of encouragement and support from the government has eaten deep into the common African man and has hampered the creativity of the African youth which leads them to go into social vices. Lack of job creation has lead youths to go astray taking the law into their hands.
